Professional Paramedics and EMTs of Charles County
The objectives of
this union are:
- to negotiate collective employment agreements;
- to enforce that contract and existing common practices through appropriate legal remedies, as governed by state statute and county ordinance;
- to promote harmony and goodwill among our membership and to respect our individual differences;
- to promote health and safety in our dangerous workplace and in our community;
- to maintain and strengthen adequate disability and pension laws for personal and dependent coverage; and
- to value apprenticeship training and professional standards as a way of continually improving our positions of professional fire fighters, paramedics and EMTs.

If you live or have family members who live in Charles County, we need your help. We currently have very important legislation before the Maryland State Senate which will add additional cancers to the list of presumable occupational illnesses for Fire Fighters and Paramedics.
House Bill 1101 has passed out of the House of Delegates with a strong vote and has been introduced to the Maryland State Senate. The bill is now before the Senate Finance Committee which is chaired by Senator Thomas "Mac" Middleton of Charles County (District 28).
Senator Middleton yields a great amount of control over how quickly and how favorably this bill will be voted on in his committee. We need as many members, friends, and family members to call and email Senator Middleton's office and request his support of this legislation. Please be courteous, let his staff know that you are a voter in his district and that this bill is important to you and your family. Senator Middleton's contact information is as follows:
